Spotted Cow Res 2 - 1 North Boarhunt FC
The game started as it meant to continue, as fast and flowing football was played for the first 45 minutes without a goal, but plenty of chances. Warren Sands (Boarhunt) was booked after 10 minutes for a foul on a Spotted Cow forward charging through to goal, a blatant pro foul. Chances for Boarhunt were scarce, but the clearest chance of the half fell for Boarhunt player Glynn Hogg who narrowly missed the far post. Spotted Cow created and missed many chances in the first half as they pressed for a lead in the game.
In the second half it was only a contraversial penalty after 55 minutes that broke the deadlock, Spotted Cows goalkeeper smashing it into the middle of the goal (after ALOT of arguing). With substitutions already made the Boarhunt keeper saw the ball go in the net and then had to come off the pitch, leaving Boarhunt with 10 players for the remaining 35 minutes. Cow took advantage and quickly slotted a goal past the new keeper for Boarhunt, Stuart Stone, and sparked off complaints as the Cow striker was a good 5 yards off-side. Fluent football followed for a while until Boarhunts Captain, Lee Jones, scored a 25 yard side-foot shot. Good build up play and a fabulous through ball from Glyyn Hogg left Jones with a clear shot at goal. The game was played out and both teams seemed to enjoy a tough game.
Well done Boarhunt lads you played your hearts out.............20% more next week though boys yeah?
